The weird news section for California is headed up with a report from 1995. The weird news report is about a 24 year old woman in San Bernardino that abandoned her three-year-old child at a shopping center to attend a Grateful Dead concert. She and her husband plead guilty to abandonment and her parents took custody of the child.
The Oregon weird news section on the News of the Weird website has an article that relates to corpse abuse. There was a man in 1994 that petitioned the courts in his hometown to allow a woman to use her dead husband's skin to make covers for editions of his poetry. The court did not allow this request in the dead husband's will to be fulfilled.
A funny weird news story from Montana is about an escapee that ran into the warden from his prison at a Seattle Mariner's baseball game. This happened in 1991.
An Idaho weird news story from 1994 was about an old blind pervert. The 69 year old resident of Mountain Home, Idaho was charged with having sex with two 12-year old girls. He claimed that the charges should be dropped since he could not see the girls and did not know how young they were.
In may of 1993, a Kenosha, Wisconsin man made weird news. He was arrested inside of a women's restroom at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He was charged with disorderly conduct. He was dressed as a French maid, bound and handcuffed when he was arrested. Police say he had been arrested before for a similar incident where had also paid a female student to tie him up, claiming it was part of a fraternity prank.
